Everyone had smiles from ear to ear as we rode alongside about 150 + fellow bike riders through the streets of Jogja. A moving, parading cultural exchange Jogja/Australian style!

Thanks to all the local yogya bycicle communities that made the parade happen!

Pawai Sepeda: Thursday 30th September.

Route: starting at 16:00 WIP pm at Alun Alun Utera
then moving on to Alun Alun selatan at 18:00 to then arrive at survive garage 19:00 for a music event featuring Dub Youth, Tawazul, Roda Roda DJ's and Mas Butcher.

The Roda Roda crew came together after becoming inspired both by the local arts scene and the Jogjakarta bicycle culture when visiting for the South Project in October 2009.

We put together our skills and created the ultimate disco bike resplendent with speakers car battery powered amp, rainbow hued flags and flowers and multiple tunes from all over the world.

We realised that there was potential to continue this neighbourly conversation and celebratory cultural exchange. Roda Roda Soundsystem are currently in Jogja and very excited to be working with the local sound, art and bicycle communities.

The Roda Roda crew have been working hard on modifying our wheels into fully operational music and art machines and collaborating on a large bicycle parade along the streets of Jogja this Thursday 30th of September.

Roda Roda have received funding from Arts Victoria as well as the Australia Indonesia Institute.
