Thank you for posting this version. I hate the version with Ofra Haza's slow arabic-opera singing because it just doesn't blend with this fast paced uptempo song.

reminds me of old times,... god,.. i was so stoned,...

This brings back so many great memories - saw the Sisters on their first uk tour - ? 1982 - at a secondary school in Peterborough! - stage a normal school stage so easy to get to front - not many at gig - tried to tie Andrews' shoe laces together with base player but got caught by the bassist! -he grinned and moved away - amazing gig - toriginal line up - he music scene was buzzing then... was disappointed when they got onto TOTP - felt they sold out a little.

1983 had a very poor demo sound quality. Most people say they dislike the massive improved 1992, usualy dislike the Vision Thing album as well and better should have stayed in 1983. ;)

@DRoBeR totally agree with you.
they need to be original. they need to bee underground. they need to be something. BUT... it's their opinion. just ignore.
I enjoy the version with the female moaning. :)

@DRoBeR More than likely because the re- release of this track saw the start of the downward spiral for The Sisters i.e Vision Thing. This dates back to when The Sisters were a force to be reckoned with

@RiotNrrrdUTube She was born in Israel & was Jewish but was of Yemeni origin or heritage. She did an album called "Yemenite Songs" which were traditional. To quote: "The album consisted of songs that Haza had heard in childhood, using .... authentic Middle Eastern percussion with classical instruments". Maybe some were sung in Arabic but I don't know as I'm of Greek heritage living in US. Does that make me Greek, Greek American or just American? Depends on which culture I identify with most.

@Ellatha1 She was from Ha'tikva in Tel Aviv ... which last I knew wasn't in Yemen. Just because her ancestors were from Yemen doesn't mean she did "Arabian singing"
the sound could be better

I can't understand why people can't have enough saying they PREFER this version... It seems they need to HATE something to be able to like other staff...
I like both but I prefer the one with Haza's voice.
Opera is missing nowadays. A mezzo-soprano voice with an arabic style is cool enough to be appreciated. It provides a non common style to this song.
Of course this is my oppinion and I am able to discuss it with you, people, if you want to.
Later, mates! :)
