With the fire from the fireworks up above me
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain at hand
You run for cover in the temple of love
You run for another but still the same
For the wind will blow my name across this land

In the temple of love you hide together
Believing pain and fear outside
But someone near you rides the weather
And the tears he cried will rain on walls
As wide as lovers eyes

In the temple of love: shine like thunder
In the temple of love: cry like rain
In the temple of love: hear my calling
In the temple of love: hear my name

And the devil in black dress watches over
My guardian angel walks away
Life is short and love is always over in the morning
Black wind come carry me far away

With the sunlight died and night above me
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain inside
You run for cover in the temple of love
You run for another its all the same
For the wind will blow and throw your walls aside

With the fire from the fireworks up above
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain
You run for cover in the temple of love
I shine like thunder cry like rain
And the temple grows old and strong
But the wind blows longer cold and long
And the temple of love will fall before
This black wind calls my name to you no more

In the black sky thunder sweeping
Underground and over water
Sounds of crying weeping will not save
Your faith for bricks and dreams for mortar
All your prayers must seem as nothing
Ninety-six below the wave
When stone is dust and only air remains

In the temple of love: shine like thunder
In the temple of love: cry like rain
In the temple of love: hear the calling
And the temple of love is falling
Down

  • the sound could be better

  • @Rot3rFaden i've re-uploaded it with much better sound

  • I can't understand why people can't have enough saying they PREFER this version... It seems they need to HATE something to be able to like other staff...

I like both but I prefer the one with Haza's voice.

Opera is missing nowadays. A mezzo-soprano voice with an arabic style is cool enough to be appreciated. It provides a non common style to this song.

Of course this is my oppinion and I am able to discuss it with you, people, if you want to.

    Later, mates! :)

  • @DRoBeR i agree with you , you can love everything so why do you try to find something to hate on?

  • where is a posting of the original 122 mix the ofara haza version is becoming annoying as that is all people are posting please post the original soon?!

  • @kraftwerk526463 i posted all of the versions if you can't find it look at my channel.

  • Thank you for posting this version. I hate the version with Ofra Haza's slow arabic-opera singing because it just doesn't blend with this fast paced uptempo song.

  • reminds me of old times,... god,.. i was so stoned,...

  • @DRoBeR I like that attitude. Thank you for being like that, I hope it comes natural to you :)

  • @Rot3rFaden You could be better :)

  • This brings back so many great memories - saw the Sisters on their first uk tour - ? 1982 - at a secondary school in Peterborough! - stage a normal school stage so easy to get to front - not many at gig - tried to tie Andrews' shoe laces together with base player but got caught by the bassist! -he grinned and moved away - amazing gig - toriginal line up - he music scene was buzzing then... was disappointed when they got onto TOTP - felt they sold out a little.

  • @eibiswald oh yes reminds of good old times ....... and stoned @ all times ;) ^^

  • G-D shines on us all just look up!

  • 1983 had a very poor demo sound quality. Most people say they dislike the massive improved 1992, usualy dislike the Vision Thing album as well and better should have stayed in 1983. ;)

  • @DRoBeR totally agree with you.

they need to be original. they need to bee underground. they need to be something. BUT... it's their opinion. just ignore.

I enjoy the version with the female moaning. :)

  • @DRoBeR More than likely because the re- release of this track saw the start of the downward spiral for The Sisters i.e Vision Thing. This dates back to when The Sisters were a force to be reckoned with

  • @RiotNrrrdUTube She was born in Israel & was Jewish but was of Yemeni origin or heritage. She did an album called "Yemenite Songs" which were traditional. To quote: "The album consisted of songs that Haza had heard in childhood, using .... authentic Middle Eastern percussion with classical instruments". Maybe some were sung in Arabic but I don't know as I'm of Greek heritage living in US. Does that make me Greek, Greek American or just American? Depends on which culture I identify with most.

  • @Ellatha1 She was from Ha'tikva in Tel Aviv ... which last I knew wasn't in Yemen. Just because her ancestors were from Yemen doesn't mean she did "Arabian singing"
