Good news to report. After a night of fairly heavy rains we're in the clear, with plenty of room for more water and mud. Check out the snow on our local mountains.....we don't get to see this very often. The debris from these storms is full of ash and super rich organic matter. I wonder how we can reuse this valuable material? It would be a waste if it all washes out to sea or end up in a landfill. Another day, another crusade! Life is good.

  • It's the Pickens Canyon debris basin, the largest basin in the Station Fire area. This is a protection for the City of Montrose. As of 2/7/10 it's 100% at capacity.

  • I forgot to mention, this video is taken in La Canada, Jan 22, 2010. We're between Ocean View and Briggs, just north of Foothill. All the best! I love your La Canada video and, especially, the music track. Thanks for posting it.

  • This has to be at that flood control area, above the police station, off briggs.
