@squabs217 same here! Good point! This kind of music lasts!

Are we talking about Kings Highway South...or Kraussdale Road...or both??

I caught so much shit from my metalhead buddies as a kid for buying The Way It Is and Scenes From The Southside while they were buying Ozzy records . Who's laughing now ?
-
this is one of my fav. songs of all time. sad and real.

@IsaacRat I can relate a bit. I was born in Bristol, Tennessee and still have family there and just accross the border in Abingdon, Virginia. Also in Staunton and Bluefiled, Va. Virginia is a beautiful state! Maybe I'll get up to Richlands sometime to take a break from Atlanta traffic and general chaos! : )

@IsaacRat Thats really neat you live where this song takes place, Hornsby is a great story teller!

@jbarbou3 I am too. And apparently he came here and stayed with one of his friends who lived in Claypool Hill. They never told anyone he was here. That's what one of my friends told me.

I live in Richlands, Virginia, the place mentioned in the opening line of this song. This fascinates me. It would fascinate you too if you knew how small and not well-known it is.

Looking forward to hearing this live this month. Bruce is in NYC Aug. 31st.

Loved this ! Bruce's music touches me like no other.
One of my all time favorites of Bruce's. What a phenomenal piano part and touching set of lyrics. It's just so sad that so little music is produced today similar to this.

Between 3:00 and 4:15 is absolutely beautiful. Bruce Hornsby is the most underappreciated pianist in the world.
