Twilight on the Geelong to Melbourne line almost always delivers impressive sunsets, unfortunately the 'perfect moment' for filming only lasts a few minutes each day. On this occassion luck was on my side and a five carriage V/line Vlocity passenger railcar destined for Geelong passes through a level crossing on a quite country road at just the right moment.
All crossings on this line are protected by boom gates and flashing lights similar to the ones shown here.
The V/Locity (also known as the Vlocity or "Vlocity 160") is a high speed diesel multiple unit (DMU) train manufactured by Bombardier Transportation and is used by V/Line on its broad gauge regional rail network in Victoria, Australia. The VLocity is an evolution of the Xplorer & Endeavour railcars used by Countrylink and Cityrail in NSW.
