Now it's, "everytime you smoke a cigarette, a child dies of lung cancer. stop killing the world. paid for by the united association of publicity-seeking liberal cocksuckers"
@seanthamaster i know right...i'm the same as you. i'm 21 and perfer 50's life to this life...if there wasn't racism back then it would of been perfect :D i wish we had the prices from those days.
I remember some of the ads with spine tingling accuracy, some products I have heard of but some commercials were before my time.. Some products still exist, some dont.So interesting!Dancing Cigarettes? I remember the last cig commercial they showed in Los Angeles in the 1660's. I realized even as a kid that was important. Dennis James part of a natural style of announcers that dick clark and now ryan seacrest carry on. So many things to comment on. enjoying reading all the posts!
Commercials were so long back then!

And welfare...

@atoli16 Inflation, my friend. Take away the printing press, re-instate a gold standard, and you'll have low prices.

I'm 18, and personally, i would rather be living in the mid 50s than now. I'm not too impressed with my generation.

Lifebuoy drives wives wicked....It would have been too over the top back then to simply say Lifebuoy it drives women wicked.
And with todays PC BS this commercial would also be considered sexist....
