yeah some dont care about the traditions that much these days some kabuki theaters have fake music and stuff. btw is that music where they hit the ground with the wooden thingys and say yo~ just kabuki ?

I think younger men were introduced back into it at some point... But you know these days, people don't often pander to the traditions of the past.

haha no not all of them. Depends on how old the video is. Kabuki was first introduced to japan BY the women but then of cause most of them were also prostitues. In order to make it all bout the "art" again they only allowed the men to perform it, but of course most of the young boys who performed were prostitutes too =P Then it became an art for old men.
