She is a GREAT singer and this movie shows her talent, but to her credit, her fans and directors/producers/etc. knew she could sing waaayyy before Mamma Mia!. She sang "Amazing Grace" for Silkwood, two outstanding numbers for Postcards (she does "I'm Checkin' Out" better than any country singer), many songs for A Prairie Home Companion, and I think she even sang in Angels for America, though I still have not seen it.

Congratulations Meryl with your 62nd birthday! I love you and I wish you many beautiful years! If I had one wish, it would be that I can meet you. I'm a 14 year old girl from holland, and I watch videos of you every night. I've seen 29 movies of you and they're wonderful! You're the best person in the world. I love you! Happy birthday!

Just to clarify, Meryl had Henry in '79, Mamie in '83, Grace in '86, and Louisa in '91.
Definitely not pregnant here considering in was made in '81.
