  • You didn't show how to remove the plastic cover at the end of the video :-D. Hint: Lowering the engine makes it much easier because you get some millimeters additional space to remove the cover. You can get it out without that, but you risk to damage the cover or the cover gasket.

  • Was excellent but I have a question, I have a hose that doesn't have a home. It's on the rear of the air box and connects all the carbs. It pulls a vacuum and when I close it off, it kills the engine.

    Can you give me an idea or some direction.

  • This is a great post. I have to pull the carbs out of my V45 Magna. I have gas spewing out of one of the tubes connecting the carbs. The bike is running great, but it's just spilling gas on the engine and pipes...not good. I don't think there's much difference in the V65 and the V45 when it comes to pulling the carbs out. Thanks for posting these videos....should be a great help.

    By the way, do I detect a Newfoundland accent?

  • Your shifter forks were bent, very common with the V65's due to poor design and weak components. Thankfully I haven't screwed mine up yet.

  • i had an 84 V65 magna...loved it, but when i got on it, and shifted it from 1st to 2nd entering a highway onramp..it always misshifted, ending up with a high rev because it wouldn't go into 2nd. if i road it normal, it was fine, but it didn't like to be slammed into 2nd...any idea why? it shifted fine, no leaks, the engine was great, sounded awsome..but that misshifting was a real pain
