    Thanks for the question Joey. you're the first to ask this. The best answer to this is that when the bearded man leaves, he is "leaving it all behind." The song deals with stasis and the inner crisis of an artist. The multiple bearded men represent the multiple facets of an individual. In the end, the stronger personality decides it's time to leave and departs leaving the weaker facets of his personality and all personal baggage behind.
