  • Hello, thanks for posting. I have never owned a cat before and am very interested in having one as a pet. I've done some research and came across this breed and am quite intrigued by its placid nature. I've also been keeping an eye on the Birman.

I'm interested in a cat that loves affection, is not overly vocal and is relatively low maintenance. In the past, my partners have had cats that were a little too independent / standoffish for my tastes. Any other suggestions on breeds?

  • @Jason99942 I would suggest a Ragdoll, but I do not kow about Birmans. Of course, you can get a Ragdoll that is independent/standofish. So really your only option is to find a Ragdoll Rescue (an adult Ragdoll) who's personality is evident and you can be assured of.

  • What kind of ragdoll cats are these? Is the color and markings a happy accident or can they be bred for this color/markings? I really love this ragdoll type. ^.^

  • @AnnetteTalas Caymus and Murphy are seal mitted Ragdoll cats. However, Murphy is slightly different because he has a blaze, which is the white stripe on his nose. Seal Mitted is pretty common in Ragdolls - blazes are a little bit different and one of the cats breeding has to carry the white spotting gene for that to happen. You can check out my website by Googling "Ragdoll Cats with blazes" and you can see all the varieties of blazes.

  • they look like birman cats :) very beautiful cats :)

  • @inlovemermaid yes, very similar to Birmans in appearance...they are lovely cats.

  • @Jason99942 Ragamuffins are also very lovable. They're perfectly happy to stay inside, and should since they don't have strong protective instincts. They're pretty large, have soft fur, and require a lot of attention. Mentally, they remain kittens for a long time. It's like having a child, but they're so sweet and it's worth it.

  • wait are those twins O.O they so cute
