Chimay Cinq Cents (White) - DM's Montreal Beer Reviews [Ep.3 {5}]

The second beer from the Chimay 3 beer range, Chimay Cinq Cents (White) is an excellent complex Tripel. Its fruity and hoppy taste really works well with the moderate carbonation and a slightly spicy texture. A true Belgian classic!

1: Undrinkable
2-3: Not enough flavour; does not deserve to be in its style
4-5: Below average; some flavours; drinkable
6: Average, decent beer
7: Above average, pretty good beer; lacks a few aspects still

9: Excellent, much better than others in its style; only a small step from being perfect
10: Amazing, Brilliant, Outstanding! A perfect example of the style! Could also be an absolute favourite.

I just got that gift pack and i have not tryed this one yet i had the blue label.

Damn. I'm still kicking myself for passing up the gift pack when it first appeared in the NSLC about five years ago or so. But it was either this or Duvel and I was low in funds that Christmas season.

@elharlock Yeah, that feels horrible. I had passed on it last year, so when I found out they're bringing those gift sets back, I said "There's no way I'm not getting one!"

i have all three chimays coming soon myself, so i will have to compare notes. good review. chad said he like this one the best of the three. so i guess we will see what both of us think.

I didn't know that the white was between the red and blue. I thought white was the least ABV. This is the color I haven't tried yet so it looks like its a go now! Great review.
