WOO! look at that baby fly!

well, it makes one hell of a noise but I don't think you'll be winning any races. Good effort though :P

Nice work in general, but also kodos for your metal working and design. Are you the designer, or is this a common design? If so where could I get plans? I'm no expert, a software engineer, but a hobbiest with any type of engine or motor; your engine sounds like its verging on breaking up into the next speed octave -- like it has everything it needs but something is out of adjustment. Have experimented with different length exhaust and intake pipes? What PSI did you set the propane regulator?

Fire up the bass cannon.

Have you rated its thrust?
Please help me to understand how the self starting works. This is pivotal technology. A self starting pulse jet solves a slew of problems for me and reduces weight. So... why does it start without blowing into it? Thank you in advance for your answer and thank you for posting this game changing break through.

@MrRockyramjet It's not terribly complex. It works on a venturi principle, So basically high speed fuel vapor is blasted into tubes with flared ends (the intake tubes), the fuel jets sit outside of the intake tubes and cause turbulence and resulting lower pressure around the fuel jets, that lower pressure draws in fresh air with the fuel. As long as there is enough air sucked in with the fuel to cause multiple deflagrations (subsonic explosions) then the engine will continue to resonate.
