If you're a confirmed urbanite you might be shocked by how closely parts of Wilmette mimic a city lifestyle.

This new construction home at 225 10th St is 3 blocks to Evanston's Central Street (a walkable gem), 4 blocks to downtown Wilmette, 3 or 4 blocks away from two Metra stations and a 10-minute walk to the Linden El.

Walker Bros Pancake House and Dominick's are almost across the street.

Watch as Lyn Flannery of Coldwell Banker tells us more about the home and the urbanesque environment.

This is the first part of a 2-part video.

  • I'm not sure what looks better...the house or her

  • Price is now only $1,425,000. Making it a steal if you want new construction east of Green Bay Road. It is a fabulous neighborhood, but it is in a section that has seen little development. It is next to homes that only fetch $800,000 to $900,000. Also, it is only maybe 100 ft from the Metra tracks. You can find better deals in McKenzie or even look farther north to Glencoe or west to Northfield or East Glenview.

  • I have visited this home. It is really wonderful. It is a spectacular value for being east of Green Bay Road. It is very close to the train track though. The price is now $1,485,000. Joe Zekas, We are searching for a new home in the New Trier district. Our realtor is Daniela Popa of Coldwell Banker Glencoe and I was wondering which town you thought was the nicest in New Trier. Our realtor really wants us to buy in Glencoe, because of the value. Just would like your input.

  • One and a half million? Did I read that right? Oh my god it's expensive up there. You'd need money up front plus two large incomes to support that. No wonder people are so vulnerable to interest rate jitters in the US. Wauw.
