The world of tea is highly complex, just like coffee or wine. There are various opinions out there about this machine. We all know Breville's quality, and that it's now BPA free; however, there are other opinions stating that the basket cover and lid are plastic. Is this a problem concerning health issues?

@shrumpkin Honestly, I'm not sure. I know that BPA is about keeping clear plastics clear and I don't know if we'll suddenly discover that there are nasty elements in these opaque plastics. Only time will tell, I guess; unfortunately, manufacturing has gone largely the way of plastics so it's difficult to find anything that doesn't have it as a component. - Kat
