Joes Pov

When we got to lunch, I told nick to go and get us a table while I waited in line. He nodded softly and went to a empty table. A couple minutes later, I sat down by nick giving him his food.

Joe: whats wrong sweetie?

Nick: my stomach hurts -holds his stomach-

Joe:-puts his arms around nicks shoulder- eat sweetie and it will go away

Nick: otay -smiles, grabs his food and starts eating-

Joe: -lets go of his shoulder and starts eating-


20 minutes later we were done eating. I took his hand like a mother taking there child to the first day of school. We drove to the park and then got out of the car. I took his hand again and walked up the trail. We were laughing,giggling,talking. We came across the baseball field when we usually played baseball with my dad. Memorys flooded my head as I looked at nick and he looked at me with tears in both of our eyes. I stroked his cheek looking into his eyes letting my tears fall. He hugged me with great force.

Nick: are you going to be otay Joey? -looks up at Joe-

Joe:-lets go of the hug- yes -smiles-

Nick: -smiles too-

I kissed his cheek and held his hand entering the field again. I looked at him smiling. He knew what I was thinking, I let go of his hand and as I ran to pitching base he ran to 4th base. He held the bat up bending his knees waiting for me. I grabbed the ball from the ground and as I was about to throw it a memory popped into my head...

Nick= 4

Joe= 6


Jonas Dad: -teaching Nick how to hold up a bat-

Nick: -laughing and learning-

positioned at 4th base
Jonas Dad: okay ready Joe?

Joe: -nods-

Jonas Dad: ready nick?

Nick: -nods-

Jonas Dad: Game on

Joe: -pitches-

Nick: -hits ball- -starts running around the bases-

Joe: -throwing the ball to his dad-

Nick: -makes the base-

Jonas Dad: SAFE -laughs-

Nick: -giggles- woohoo yay

Joe: -laughs- yay nicky

I dropped the ball making it slip out of my hands hitting the ground making a thumping noise. I saw nick walking to me...
