A fun intro to Nei Gong exercises called Ape Arms. Intro level to Qi Gong, Nei Gong, & Dao Yin exercises. With this exercise you can increase your Oxygen uptake by 50%. Perform 100-500 times per day. Takes 3-10 minutes.
@bluntman069 You posted that you were going to add this to your routine and that you also powerlift. Yeah, this would be a great exercise to loosen up the shoulder girdle.
You can also do this exercise with your arms completely straight. I have been doing this lately and will repost a new video showing this exercise. Just a small difference between the 2. It focuses more on the Lungs when the arms are straight.
@xAWESOMExVIDSx You will need to do this exercise every day for at least 30 days to see any results. However, 90 days is better. I did it every day in 2011. Actually I missed 3 days. If you live at altitude (say Denver, CO where I live) which is at 5280 ft. elevation and you travel to sea level, you will have tons of energy. However, that will backslide back to normal after 3-7 days.
@dutchtrucker Thanks! Really appreciate it. It increases oxygen uptake, because you are specifically focusing on pumping the arms up and down which in turn manually pumps the lungs to more fully open and close. This exercise also builds the muscles of the upper back and chest allowing the person to stand more erect. This opens the diaphragm up, so it is not pinched by the ribs and xyphoid process/sternum.
Could you explain how 'monkey arms' increases oxygen uptake, other than the exercise? I enjoyed the video, very down to earth and not too 'new age' which can put people off alternative treatments. I'll post it on my facebook!
