A list of songs that you may not have heard but really should've. IMO this b-side's among the best Radiohead songs ever recorded (says ALOT) and it should've been on the bends or ok computer... I've always thought it was about Montag from Fahrenheit 451 - firebombing a house, a beautiful girl, car that goes, etc. The chorus is amazing and, for better or worse, true.
_______________________________________

"I wrapped you inside my coat
When they came to firebomb the house
I didn't feel pain, 'cause no one can touch me
Now that I'm held in your spell

A beautiful girl
A beautiful girl can turn your world into dust

Sell me a car that goes
Sell me a house that stands
I never cared before, I never cared before
I never cared before, before, before, before

A beautiful girl
A beautiful girl can turn your world into dust

A beautiful girl
A beautiful girl can turn your world into dust

I stood in front of her face
When the first bullet was shot"

  • This song is wonderful. I love the note he hits when he says spell

i'd say Radiohead stirs the soul on a much deeper level than Coldplay could ever hope to achieve. sure, love songs are Coldplay's forte, and Thom Yorke doesn't write that many love songs, but when he does, he taps into the territory that Chris simply doesn't dare to touch. and anyway, a song doesn't have to be a love song to hit the soul emotionally.

plus, Radiohead is much more interesting musically, there's just no contest.

  • Guy Montag!

  • @GnossosSlothrop Did he? I thought that was Planet Telex.

  • @DatGUEnvy The only old-ish Radiohead instrumental I can think of is Meeting in the Aisle, as roithekike suggested. It's off the Airbag / How Am I Driving EP, so it was probably recorded around OK Computer time. Hope that helps.

  • Stunning song. From my iron lung ep.

  • i think its called "walking down the isle " or somthing

  • I love that little riff at 1:32
