This is the first half of a clip made of a private lesson for a new student Tony. He has a martial arts background and prefers to learn via seeing the application. This is a basic partner drill version of fan zhang, or the simplest form of single palm change. The second part of this clip will show how fan zhang is the entry-way to Baguazhang's version of clinch fighting. I was originally taught the solo version of bagua fan zhang by my first gongfu instructor Sifu Glenn Wright. Sifu Glenn is the senior student of Master Park Bok-Nam in North America. While the stuff in the first clip are things you might see in some bagua schools very few will explicitly show the clinch stuff in the second clip (assuming they realize it's there!), probably because it's not really needed until you have to train or spar with grapplers (which is where I figured it out!).
Some of the worst Fan Zhang ive ever seen ,fingers all splayed out like that ,if you dont break them yourself ,id break them for you,and why do you have Glenn Write`s name on the other half of this video?

@masterbigeats I like the fingers that way for a very good reason. It is very true that the version taught by Park and Glenn keeps the fingers close together. I have Glenn Wright's name on the video because he was my first bagua teacher and a fine man. He taught me good stuff and I have been experimenting with it and growing with it for over a decade.
