"Namibia, Land of the Brave" is the national anthem of Namibia. After it became independent in 1990, Namibia held a competition to decide upon a new anthem, which was won by Axali Doëseb, the director of a traditional music group from the Kalahari desert.

Here sung by two young Namibian girls, these are the lyrics:

Namibia, land of the brave
Freedom fight we have won
Glory to their bravery
Whose blood waters our freedom
We give our love and loyalty
Together in unity
Contrasting beautiful Namibia
Namibia our country
Beloved land of savannahs,
Hold high the banner of liberty

Namibia our Country,
Namibia Motherland,
We love thee.

  • i love Africa these girls are so sweet

  • @DeathByEpicness You welcome.

  • @LYYSL thank you

  • @DeathByEpicness SANE PEOPLE COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOUR LOGICAL STATEMENT!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL VOICES,BEAUTIFUL GIRLS!!! SINCE IT WAS IN 2007 AND YEARS HAVE PASSED-I WONDER WHAT HAS SINCE HAPPENED/BECOME OF THEM?

  • @HeiligesReich2 Your statement is a perplexing paradox,it is highly probable that you wrote it with the intention to purposely ruffle feathers-as you very well know that it is not logical in the slightest!

  • Thumbs up - very authentic. Namibia is a multicultural place with many languages, Damara (inkl. Nama Damara), Herero, Himba (an Herero dialect) and Oshiwambo. There is also Rukwangali, Silozi, and Setswana. Of course there are the colonial languages Africans, English and German. During the apartheid area many people have been brought to Namibia's desert area by force from South Africa from which many preserved their own language.

  • @HeiligesReich2 the whole point of the anthem is to remind us of how we became INDEPENDANT from the Germans, so why the hell would we want to make a German version???

  • We speak Our vanicular languages, then afrikaans and english,, stopspreading wrong information.
