Filmed in the summer of 2000 in the central (don't quote me on this part!) Istria, the place named Barban. There was one more feature to show of the guys parading in sheep skins and some other old paraphernalia - unfortunately didn't have good footage. What are they called? 'Loncari'?

  • @mciceran beter-known IN ITALY !

  • What exactly do you mean by its not of Croatian origin? These kinds of traditions can be found all around Europe, so its neither specifically Italian nor Croatian. However, the costumes and way this tradition is performed in Barban its much more similar to Sinjska alka than Italian games.

  • "Trka na prstenac" is a jousting game on horseback that goes back to medieval times, and is not of Croatian origin. It is also celebrated in various parts of Italy, but at different times of the year. This ancient traditional game is better-known as the "Giostra dell'anello".
