Ugh....kids and teens today don't even know what WW1, WWII and other wars are. It's pathetic. And when it comes to the few minutes of silence?.......They don't even stay silent, they laugh and giggle about it.
My great great grandfather went in the war of 1812, then my Granny's dad jumped in both WW1 and 2, and his son went in WWII and the Korean War.
On my grandpa's side, his dad's brother faught in the Boar War.

Both my grandfathers were in the military and did stuff for WWII. One of them was a pilot and his plane is in a museum here :)
They are also still alive.
I'm scared now though because my boyfriend joined the marines... leaves for boot camp in january. The idea of him getting called off to war is just terrifying.
