Each year the Vermont Council on World Affairs hosts well over 100 international visitors coming to the area under the auspices of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The IVLP is the U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange program bringing emerging and upcoming leaders across all sectors to experience the United States firsthand while completing carefully designed programs that reflect their professional interests and U.S. foreign policy goals.

This IVLP one-man group was in Vermont from August 4-7, 2010 for a program called, "Environmental Youth Education". The visitor was from Hong Kong and he works for a school that promotes outdoor immersion and environmental education for people of all ages, but especially young people.
For his first visit, he went to the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center/Leahy Center for Lake Champlain at Burlington Harbor and received a wonderful personal tour from Linda, Kate and Molly. During the tour he learned about the ecology of Lake Champlain while also observing youth educational programs run inside the facility. Thanks again to Linda, Kate, Molly and everyone else at the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center/Leahy Center for Lake Champlain!
