There are many of us that are against gay marriage that don't use religion as a base. There are sanitary issues associated with sodomy. That's what motivated me to vote yes on prop8.
Don't associate the gay movement with minority suffering pls. Someone who's black doesn't choose to be that color. A gay man chooses to live his lifestyle and to be promiscous.

Excellent movie.
As a straight who is involved in the gay marriage movement, it was chilling to listen to Anita B and hear the poison coming out of her mouth...and how 30 years later...the religious right is still spewing almost verbatim the same shit.

Like Penn said in his Oscar speech, this generation's children will look back and equate the current anti-gay movement to other forms of discrimination that minorities have had to suffer through.

I agree dude. I liked the movie cuz it's based on a true story, but I found it difficult to watch the gay kissing scenes. I couldn't turn my head away fast enough.

No, finding it difficult to see two gay men kissing is very normal. It's a natural reaction amongst us str8 men to look away at seeing men kissing each other. John and Anita were more extreme than many of us str8s.

its alright if you find it difficult. but when you go around calling them disgusting pervets for kissing, then youre as bad as them. im straight, and after watching this film i realised that they get too much abuse

It's just a natural reaction to get grossed out seeing two men kissing. That has nothing to do w/ disliking gay men. You mentioned you're str8? then, you're probably a lady. Just about all straight men I know find that disgusting. Why would one complain seeing a hetero couple kissing? what type of sex was it that produced you? or were u born by mistakee?
