No, it's just that murder, child abuse, toxic waste, tax evasion, and owning smallpox and assault weapons create harms to society that outweigh their benefits, if any. That's all. That's the reason we legalize or prohibit anything. Crack and heroin generate zero benefits to society yet result in massive harms to children, families, employers, health care providers, communities, states, and nations. So they're obviously illegal.

What stupidity!

Murder and child abuse violate the right to self ownership.

Dumping toxic waste threatens other's property rights.

Tax evasion should be legal.

Owning weapons of mass destruction gives you the ability to massively violate rights, owning pot, crack, or heroin doesn't.

the study on which you base the claim that cannibis causes testicular cancer is, at best, weak statistical correlation, for example a test group of less then 400 cancer sufferers in the same city might well have all received tainted street weed, that would throw any research in to the physical effects of just cannabis into jeopardy.

all of those examples, hurt other people and society directly, cannabis use does not, also you can drink yourself retarded in your own home perfectly legally and alcohol is much worst a drug in terms of behavioural effects, because it while effect no one else.

the murder rate per 100,000 people in the u.s is the same as it was during prohibition of alcohol, and the marijuana trade is worth billions to organized crime. you have no argument.

Prohibition of alcohol created massive crime and other impacts that outweighed the benefits of prohbition. The same is not even remotely true of marijuana. And if you also want to legalize heroin and crack cocaine . . . well, holy shit. It's laughable to suggest that legalizing those killers would benefit society.

We tell people what they can't do in their homes all the time. You can't murder anyone, beat your kids, dump toxic waste, fail to pay your taxes, or own smallpox or assault weapons.

@GetCeIt you don't see the bigger picture.....prohibition created massive amounts of crime, just as the prohibition on drugs has. The story behind it is so much more complicated than it might cause this or that....people have the right to make their own judgements health wise. Just about anything can have some kind of neg. health effect. Who are you to tell me what I can or can't do in my own home. Driving while using pot would be illegal just like while drunk...

Yeah. Alcohol is bad. No shit. If you want to prohibit alcohol, that's fine. We prohibited it once, and certainly didn't repeal it because we decided alcohol was a net benefit for society. That's a separate video, though. This one is about marijuana, which shrinks the brain, doubles your risk of getting the most aggressive form of testicular cancer, and doubles or triples your risk of causing a fatal traffic accident. Whether alcohol is legal or illegal, why on Earth would we legalize that?
