It is possible to get through Thanksgiving meal, or any meal, without that one moment of feeling like you've put yourself over the edge and there's no turning back; that flipping of the switch doesn't have to occur, and if it does, it is reversible.
Suggestions about dealing with:
Body comparison
Before, during, and after eating / bloatedness
Gratitude
Plans for arriving home
Continued support
How we can benefit from challenges
Remember its not food that you're afraid of. Upon seeing / smelling the food, you might be afraid, but you're not afraid of the food. The food itself is harmless. Remember that. The food itself is completely harmless.
In the spirit of gratitude, be grateful for your strength, for what makes you *you,* for what it is about YOU, as an individual, that got you this far. Be grateful for the support that you've had and know that you deserve it, that you have support because you're a good person and people want to have compassion for you and they believe in you. Be grateful for others who believe in you unconditionally when you've been lacking in that same belief for yourself.
