This was test flight #1151 of the Terrafugia Transition. Video is taken from two cameras on the runway. The first camera is near the runway about half way down, and the second camera is farther from the runway, and more towards the landing end.
You know that this craft reminds me of the personal rockets packs that never became anything more than a marvelous curiosity. Its easy to see that you need to be a very experienced pilot to fly this machine. The design of the fuselage and landing gear has to require a very flat and horizontal take off and landings or you will loose pieces of craft.
@jesusisbetter I'm thinking the same. I know weight is a major concern with an aircraft in this class, what with having to stay under the restrictions. A 45kt stall speed is good but test flight numbers will need to be released before I can make a call in that area. I also notice major flight control deflection at rotation. All of this said, I am still impressed but I will stick with my Cessna 172. Would like to see this certified though.
imagine driving down the road and seeing traffic jam in front of you then just flip the wings open take up sum speed and fly over them!!! iwould luve to land this thing right in my garage!!!
I liked the bit where the car flew

Has this thing been away from the airport yet?

As a pilot, this Transition sounds and appears underpowered in the air. Any other pilots here get this impression?
