Big Boy Hang Glider Towing June 5, 2010.mp4

Platform truck towing and Foot-launching hang gliders at Big Boy Junction, TN. This was a nice day. It was a bit warm and then got a little over developed, but cleared up later to a beautiful sky! This is the yahoo group know as Memphis Flyers, but they are from all around the area. On this day members flying were Bob, Miller, Ross, Jeff, Scott, and Mark. They totaled 20 flights all together that day.

Great video and filming. I really miss the warm weather. How high can you get platform towing?

The road in this video is about 2 1/4 miles long and is used for north or south winds. The highest tow so far has been 3400 feet AGL. This is not the average though. The tow height depends on the wind speed, thermal activity, and communication with the tow driver. Most of them are 2000+ though on this road. They have another road  nearby called Kelly Loop that is only about 1 1/2 miles long and is used for more east or west wind days.
