I have alot of flight videos from over the past 9-10 months of having this Rc airplane and decided to put together a copulation of the many many landings and maneuvers I have done with the camera onboard.
As the months have gone on I have changed out the electronics, Radio, servos ,ECS and now has a brushless 400 rimfire running off the stock battery and it preforms wonderfully.
My landing have gotten better since I changed out the radio and servos and with the new motor it has improved my smoothness and control of the craft.
I use skinny long zip ties chunks of Styrofoam and folded kleenex to hold the cam in place and help buffer the vibration, noticeably with the stock Geared motor the plane is a shaker and the placement of the camera puts it in the one place were it gets the prop-wash and vibration the most.
If you plan on trying this yourself I would suggest that you practice longer takeoff and faster landings, and like all my flights with the camera onboard i like to get it up as high as I can then cut the throttle and glide it in for as long as I can giving a better picture.
Feel free to post comments and as the year goes on i plan to fly 2 planes both with cam and hopfully get some great shot's and make more videos.

  • I am using a simple point&shoot panisonic lumix DMC-FS20 10MP.

It has had the snot kicked outta of it and I currently carry it along in my lunch box, it is coverd in road rash and has fallen outta the sky once...opps...and no it did not record it, the SD card popped out and dissaperd

I have a few other type's of point and shoot and very small sony video cams that I have tryed.

  • Well 56MN78 I got the tires from a hobby store and there 3inch slim lite ones, as for the cub it's doing fine and I flew it last week end, it's my grab and go plane to bad the weather or time to fly has been limited, I still have more video half edited that I need to finish too but this plane is still my fav and thats why I have 2 of them now!

  • Nice job!

  • I liked your flying but your landings were quite hard. Next time u should flare (pitch up before touch down) smoothly. Example: check my video of landing a super cub on floats, @ super cub lp on floats in Cornwall .

  • Get the super cub

  • should i get the super cub or the champ?

btw its would be my first rc plane and price doesn't matter.

  • Cool vid. Looks like that cub can take quite a beating. What is the music for the second song, anyone?

  • Sneaker Pimps right?

  • 2 questions, 1.what camera did you use and how did you mount it??? 2.how much is it and were do you buy it...........---> WHY DO YOU LAND SO HARD??? i could land smoother than real life pilots land real planes...your basicly tearing up your wheels....

  • Hey ThudFalls - great video, but I especially like your introduction, where you say: "I decided to put together a copulation . . . . "

I think the word you're looking for is "compilation". Copulation is something else entirely - look it up in the dictionary, my friend!!!!

  • what kind of camera did you use and how did you mount it?......it looks like you used zip ties.
