Nice video, all I have to say is that your footwork involves only moving forward or backwards while attacking and countering.
If you circle from his attacks you would fare better, especially when he leaps at you.
Try and incorporate stepping to the side and circling into your defense/offense.
The only times you do circle, just before you are about to attack you stop, then are back to forward/backwards.

I envy you.... You get other martial artists to spar with... I just have my two hobo buddies... and one of them doesnt like sparring.

That looked challenging! The Wing Chun practitioner maintained a narrow defensive position with his arms, did well at anticipating and blocking your kicks (as you did also with his), and an advantage in terms of reach, so a straight attack would have been very hard. The only strategy I could think of that might have given you an advantage was to feint an attack from one direction, and then quickly deliver the "live" one from outside. Good effort!

in the streets, 0:40 is legal...wing chun belongs to the streets, it is brutal in so many ways.

@WestSideOC23 Bruce Lee was so fast and agile because HE WAS BRUCE LEE> He had an inate talent. Mozart wasn't a prodigy because he practiced classical piano. He was simply a prodigy. Yes, practice and hard work add to that... Bruce was one of a kind and no matter which form he chose he would have made it work for him and developed his power, speed and ability. Also, it's not necessary to pose after each maneuver. Save that for the movies :O)

Nice work man. Impressive all around.

blue sash versus black belt. Time to learn some Wing Chun kid

@WarriorBoy That roll will be very dangerous in real fight. Note that the big dude was just watching ya roll around. If he was truly hardcore, he would hv stomp on ya man. Try not to roll around and get on ya feet immediately. Wouldn't be nice if ya up against a BJJ guy as well. They would LOVE to see ya roll around on the ground like that. Just a suggestion.

@Ouija88 Dude you should know than everyone's wing chun is different and you are suppose to fight with the principles.
-
@spacepinda It depends on him and don't get confused on how big someone maybe. With wing chun you fight with principles and I to am apart of wing chun William Cheung's lineage

No offence kid but you sure you're competent enough to wear your dojo's gi to spar outside your own dojo?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm competent to actually wear my gi outside the dojo. I've gotten your other comments to, and I've a few responses.
1) My school trains in competetion sparring. This is why I'm so inexperienced in street style fighting.
2) What do you expect martial arts to be? Some coreographed movements like you see in the movies? If so, you're not gonna find that here.
3) I'm not a kid, I look young, I know but I'm in my 20s, thank you.

Hello Raka!
Wing Chun is very different from other styles, it's a soft art and the concept is to fight like a girl, not a guy. So it's hard for bigger guys to think of fighting without tensing up. That's the concept. And Wing Chun is the reason Bruce Lee was so fast and agile.
As for the video, the guy looks like a wrecking machine, but I can't understand his footwork. I take traditional WC. This looks modified. Do you live in California? I'd be happy to spar you and help you to.
Cheers

Hey there WestsideOC23, thanks for commenting and offering the help! Unfortunately, I do not live in the West side of the states, I'm somewhere in the Eastern side.
Also, the style which Bill (my rather big opponent) is using, is indeed traditional style. He was taught by Keith Mazza, who also trained under William Cheung.
Having my style, Tang Soo Do, fight Wing Chun, was very challenging, as I never fought other styles like this before.
See my other vids, if you get the chance.
