Great vacuum! The Decade 80 was the last tank-like Hoover and built to last. Mine finally died this year (a plastic chassis piece broke in two after our housekeeper dropped it!!) and my vacuum man could'nt fix it. I'm getting a 'new' one for around $100.00 from my vacuum store. Our temporary replacement-a brand new Hoover 'Wind Tunnel' is a piece of junk compared to the great 'ol Decade 80!

great vacuum, . I've had it since 1987 and my mom had it before that. The only service I ever had was to change a belt or bag!

The first Decade 80 upright cleaners were introduced in 1980, in models U4151 and U4153. From 1988 to 1991, the model name was amended to Decade 800.
