Panasonic has finally announced the release of the PV500 image processor for FA that clearly pursues speed, precision, and productivity. Image transfer, image processing, arithmetic processing, and display processing are pipeline (parallel) processed with each respective processor to enable high speed performance with an inspection execution time of 90μs High definition inspections are made possible by connecting four cameras from a mixture of three types of digital cameras including a 4-times speed 300,000 pixel camera, a 2 million pixel camera, and an ultra compact 300,000 pixel camera. Productivity is improved through the use of the industry's first "triple buffer". Conventionally, the line being inspected must be stopped when the inspection items need to be rewritten, and as a result, production must also be halted during the updating process. Now, when the program is updated during inspections, the memory is expanded in order to test the updated program, and as a result, inspection items can be rewritten without stopping production. The Image Checker PV 500 also features the industry's first free layout function. This function allows customers to tailor the screen layout to their own needs at the job site so that the screen is most easily understood and visually easy to read. Up to a maximum of 32 screens can be prepared, and the screens can also be edited and switched during inspections.
