Fay Wells - Ninety Nine #5 (charter member), friend & colleague of Amelia Earhart, globetrotter, war & White House correspondent, was born on Oct. 15th, 1908 soloed a Curtiss biplane in 1929, survived a crash by parachuting to safety, worked as a reporter in Moscow in the 1930's where she was also permitted to fly, assisted Wiley Post with his first Around the World Flight, and was co-founder of the International Forest of Friendship in Atchison. Kansas (Amelia's hometown) and mentored young flyers, helped lead the way for women in aviation, journalism and a dozen other things. She died in 2003 at the age of 94. October 15th, 2008 marks the 100th anniversary of her birth. This retrospective is a salute to this incredible individual.
