its a really bad habit that became trendy years back. now its gotten ridiculous. there is no point to it either. its just a thing. you can get just as much power without screaming.

I know she says that she doesn't even think about her grunting anymore, but it's a possibility that she trained herself to grunt without really thinking about it. I know when I play and grunt while hitting the ball it improves the speed of my hit compared to when I almost hold my breath.

The grunting is just Maria. If you're a true fan of her's, then you just have to accept it. She hits with a lot of power and letting air out while hitting backs up that power. This is just my opinion. :)

This video should be used against her in a case discussing whether female players should be allowed to make so much noise.

It obviously doesn't improve her game if, when asked, she can't say implicitly that it does. Her grunts get progressively louder when she is losing and as she becomes more desperate!

The odd noise here and there is completely excusable but after every single shot is just not on. It is unfair to her opponents and the viewers. I loved it when she got booed for it last year
