"West of Kabul, East of New York: An Afghan American Story" - October 16, 2003
West of Kabul is Ansary's memoir of his childhood in pre-war Afghanistan as the son of an Afghan father and an American mother, his adulthood in the U.S., and his return to the Middle East. Always, a divided, bicultural and reflexive self, Ansary's story serves as conduit for a bittersweet analysis of the nature of Islam and the Afghan value system.

Hats off to him for a completely semi-improvised,unaided speach. He looks nervous every so often though but still manages to keep his objectives flowing.
I don't agree with his hypothesis that America is the ultimate liberator of Afganistan though.
Afganistan needs to liberate Afganistan. Coalition forces are there for a primary objective of money and power.
Do they really care about the safety and well-being of Afgans? Most ceratinly not.
