YOU CANNOT COMPETENTLY READ BIBLE IF YOU DO NOT USE 1JOHN1:9. All you will think you read is but your inflated ego. Need Spirit's brains, instead, and you won't get them, if you don't habitually use this verse, every day.

Think of 1John 1:9 as a PREPAID VISA GIFT CARD. For that's exactly how John describes it, in 1John 1:6-10. It's the ONLY Card accepted in Heaven, because it's based on the CROSS (literal text of 1John 1:7's Greek). So if you don't use it when you sin, your money (i.e., works, prayer) is no good.

Gist: Shallow Bible understanding and teaching, bad Bible understanding and teaching all come from not using 1Jn1:9. Post-salvation, the issue is to be filled with the Spirit. In OT and New (i.e., that's why you had all those OT sacrifices by BELIEVERS), you had to name your sins to God, or you were disciplined, and the Spirit didn't fill you with His Brains (OT version was pimplemi, much lower than our Royal Plerow level which Christ had). So it's worse than sin, to not use 1Jn1:9, and you get clobbered for it, Col 3:25, 1Jn5:16 (capital punishment if refusing to use it too long).

So this issue is POST-salvation fellowship. Yes, Christ paid for all sins. But the desire to be filled with the Spirit -- which being in a state of sin abrogates, just as in the OT the person or Temple was defiled -- the desire to be filled with the Spirit, is a volitional issue. And sin abrogates it, so one must name his sins to God. (BTW, it doesn't mean agonizing over the sins. I usually say "I confess my arrogance" in thinking a bizillion times a day, often knowing what kind of arrogance it was, but sometimes not. It still works. Try it, see for yourself.)

So if you aren't naming your sins to God, you are NOT spiritual, and full of nothing but hot air, fantasizing yourself spiritual like the strawman in 1Jn1:6,8,10. If you're not regularly using 1Jn1:9 but are a Christian, you have NO spiritual life: think of it as spiritual apnea.

So Learn to use 1Jn1:9 instinctively. It will work, even when you sleep, if you start the habit now. Longer video explanation is in Google, where you can download this video: just search on "brainout". For even more info, go to http://www.brainout.net/index.html .

  • I agree with your main point but I don't think you speak well for believers and other followers of Jesus Christ when you resort to name calling like "weirdo" or "crazy". You don't need to do that in order to get your point across.

  • @NeedsMoreTry Yeah, I do. Jesus did worse, John 8. You have to be nasty to Communists, terrorists, and to the stubborn. Titus 1:14 demands we insult at times, my pastor stressed that when he exegeted the verse. Christ's insults in John 8 is partly based on Psalm 18, and specifically Ps 18:26c, which should end with 'misshapen', but the immature translators covered up the word.

Only the very immature mistake nice tones, for kindness. The truly cruel, like Satan, talk nicely.

  • I read this online....If Jesus forgave and cleansed me from "all" unrighteousness (past, present, future) as stated in 1 John 1:9, then what unrighteousness did He miss? I hope you have concluded that verses 8 and 10 are not speaking to Christians. If you have, then why would verse 9 be applicable to a Christian and be sandwiched between two non-applicable verses?

  • @tombo820 Verses 8 and 10 ARE speaking to Christians. The letter is addressed to BRETHREN. You sin and you need to name it, same as in the OT you BROUGHT AN ANIMAL, put your hand on the animal and named your sin as the priest slew it. The 'animal' is replaced by Christ, so you still name your sin, and this time YOU are the priest.

You will become sick and have disasters if you don't regularly name your sins to God. I gave you the way to learn Bible on that.

  • @brainouty Joseph Prince, Asian pastor on tv. He makes it all sound very believable. I came across the mp3 on here last night. I get frustrated because I have been taught otherwise.

  • @brainouty Of course, you can just read the verse then 1Cor11 and see how that punishment works. Paul was punished for not using it, as he himself confesses in Acts 22. See also James 3-4, Psalm 32:1-5ff, Psalm 66:18ff. (The 'ff' is academic shorthand for 'and following'.)

  • @tombo820 Prince or Price? We absolutely DO need to do this, and if we don't, we are severely punished. My pastor (now dead) did a series on it (free), called the Law of Double Punishment, starts at lesson number 1411 in the 1992 Spiritual Dynamics series. Goes on for a month or two, so 60+ lessons more, sequentially, at rbthieme(dot)org. They never ask for money. Lessons are live classes recorded, on mp3.

  • Very nice video, this is so important but so many don't understand. I actually watched Pastor Prince on tv state we don't need to do this. :(

  • @brainouty Your opinion doesn't matter either, big mouth.

  • @Duck4212 Your opinion doesn't matter. Bible matters. Suggest you start using 1John1:9 yourself, so then you can read the Bible, instead of opining on it. Sorry to be so harsh, but the translation is even plain enough, and this video showed the provenance of the verse, which was also always true in the Old Testament.

Only SAVED people can confess to God. You don't confess to a God you don't yet believe in. And the video showed the horrific penalties when a believer won't name his sins.
