I give General Clark a lot of credit for refusing to back down. Let's be honest here. John McCain getting shot down in a fighter jet really means one of three things: 1. he was unlucky 2. he sucked as a pilot or 3. the Viet Cong were skillful gunners
The incident does NOT mean he is uniquely qualified to be president.

I put out an add in need of an AC repairman. A guy shows up:
"Hi, I served in Vietnam, got shot down, and spent several years in a POW camp."
"Wow, that is really great," I reply. "Can I see your AC Repairman certificate?"

Wes Clark would make a great choice for Obama's V.P.

Exactly. All of this mock (or real) outrage is bull crap. Anyone with half a brain should know that by definition of the word qualification alone, Wes Clark is right. If being shot down in a fighter plane were a qualification, then we've had a lot of unqualified presidents. Especially before planes were invented.

Watch this clip at 03:35, Dan Abrams asks General Clark, you said "riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down effectively is not a qualification for president"
General Clark responded "it's a great line, I didn't make it up, it was given to me by the interviewer".

That's Very True.

Hmm, Very Few People Actually Capitalize Every Word In Their Comment.

What The Hell Does Flying a Bomber Have To Do With Being President ?
Wesley Rocks! Keep speaking truth to power General Clark! Never back down when you are completely in the right. Don't let them reduce the discussion to sound bites!

Exactly my feelings. I've yet to find anyone who can argue otherwise.
