I think the quality of the responses here demonstrate the need for more compulsory education! It might be worth your time to actually pick up a reputable book that provides a historical rather than theoretical or ideological account of compulsory education. Compulsory education also took children out of the hands of profit-seeking industrialists and into the hands of the state that would protect them from industrial and parental exploitation and ignorance. It is a bedrock of liberal civility.

@Cherybloss17 - it's hyperbole

@sfiorare why?

this video is the stupidest bullshit ever

@cacowninja: Are YOU gonna stop saying the same thing over and over? You're a slave that wants someone ELSE to do something about YOUR LIFE. Freedom of one's mind can only be obtained via individual choice. Stop flaming this video and attempting to keep men trapped in a hive mind mentality with women and the government.

I lived what Frank Zappa was advocating. At the start of my senior year (high school), I couldn't take the system anymore. So I skipped some classes that I didn't excel in anyway. I'd go to the school library and spend hours there reading books that interested me and reading old (WWII and 1950s) magazines hidden high up in the stacks. I LOVED it and I even used one book on psycho-linguistics as the basis of a presentation I had to give in Psychology class. Best thing I ever did.

"Know your enemy! Yes I know my enemy,they're the teachers who taught me to fight me,comprimise,conformity,assim
ilation,submission,ingorance,h ipocracy,brutality,the elite, all of which are American dreams!"BAND- Rage Against the Machine Album-Self Title, Track- Know Your Enemy. All of us experienced this in school settings and to be creative was to be considered a disruption and in need of medicating,corporal punsihment,isolation,accepted bullying,& the first cuts are in the arts! Fuck em!
The restriction of true freedom will continue as the plan to move into a collective continues.

Compulsory education is insane. First of all, it restricts a person and child's choice to do what they wish. Second, they can't always choose to learn what they want to. Third, they're taken in way too soon. Fourth, the more it continues, the more it becomes a hivemind of people pushing the idea that education is effective and calling those who fail or do not wish to go "stupid." Compulsory education is part of why we have so many massive problems here today.
