Some local teens are exercising their right to assemble, in hopes of gaining another right. Dozens of teens gathered in Lowell Wednesday in an effort to make their message heard all across the state: let Lowell vote.
It has become the rallying cry in a movement to give 17-year-olds the right to vote in municipal elections.
The bill has already received support from the Lowell city government and state delegation.
Now, with only days left to pass the bill before it gets sidelined for two years, these teens are on a time-sensitive mission.
Teens say 18 is an especially difficult year to become involved in civic politics, since many young adults are away at college.
