This procedure is performed when a dog is diagnosed with a tear of the biceps tendon, more specifically bicipital tenosynovitis. Dogs affected with this condition have a chronic forelimb lameness and is often seen in very active sporting breeds. Release of the biceps tendon is performed under arthroscopic guidance and usually results in a rapid improvement in lameness.
