@dwpalma Download a program called XWE.exe and open up a copied version of your Doom.wad, and replacing the MIDI tracks with your downloaded mp3's should work fine :)
-
Not entirely sure how it's done, but you'd need a sourceport like ZDoom or something for it to work.
-
how would one modify the WAD file on the original game to insert these tracks into it? I know it can be done - just don't know how.

This song is really very peaceful, it encourages you to explore. It would also fit in a cave level.

This music was only used once in the Doom games, yet it stays with me to this day. It has that "you are all alone" feel to it. I like it, as it increases the tension the player feels as they progress through the level.

@lobo33542 you make the doom songs sound good when you describe what happens

the marine would shut his eyes, thinking for a moment as he heard the whimpering behind him, he had found five survivors. two young men...couldnt be older than 19, a young woman of about 27, an older gentleman that seemed to have been a scientist or analyst of some sort before things went to hell...and a little girl, no older than 10.
he was conflicted, he knew the extra numbers would slow him down, make him vulnerable. but he couldnt leave them . he had people to protect now as he pressed on

this was easily the most 90s game of all time.

this song brings back crazy memories,i remember those brown fireball throwing pricks in the background with this song playing. my heart would be racing, and going .... ok motherfuckers, bring it on and booom!
this is classic, I used to dream of the day when I was listening to the MIDI version of this game, and wanted this to be on my cassette player :)))) ,and then onto mp3, and here it is, i'll say it took 17 years to get here and im loving every but of it
Thank you for this great upload

The marine, exhausted from his previous encounters with these... terrifying creatures from hell, had no idea what was in store for him in the Toxic Refinery. He dragged his feet as quietly as he could, holding the battered shotgun against his chestplate.
In the distance, he could hear the low growls of what was undoubtedly imps and zombies. He bit his lip, peering through his visor around the corner. They were there alri---Shit! They'd seen him. No choice now. Stand and fight or run and die.
Doom the game tht got me into gaming and too this day still stands as the best in my opinion
