Those suicide riders didn't exist...Some historians say there were light cavalry called manghits but they weren't suicide units just units used to absorb arrow fire.

@yan99992 Obviously the suicide riders are the plan... I'm just saying, why, if the archers in the beginning are skilled enough to shoot inches away from that guy (I forget what his name is), why can't they avoid shooting their own men. Just seems silly.

Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite movies!

@TheKL3Shay Actually, it was a good tactic-beyond looking really cool. They were called "suicide riders", who unlike suicide bombers, were brave, not suicidal-participating in high-risk operations & in the charge-which the horses seldom survived-used their horses as battering rams, simply slamming into enemy horses or leaping over shield-walls, onto heads of infantrymen below. Often armored, body & steed, to increase momentum & assist in melee. (often for ambush, distraction or creating chaos).
