MCCULLOCH PRO MAC 700: ASSEMBLY NUMBER: 600061 INTRODUCED: 1977 DISCONTINUED: 1988 DISPLACEMENT: 4.3 cu. in. (70.5 cc) BORE: 2.00 in. STROKE: 1.375 in. INTAKE METHOD: Piston ported CONSTRUCTION: Die cast magnesium This saw was given to me by a friend from work, thanks Doug, and he said it was sitting in a shed for 12 years or more. It was very dirty, and had dirt dobber nests all in the saw. The fuel line was all gummed up and so was the inlet to the carb. The internals of carb weren't too bad but I did a total overhaul anyway. Also installed brand new fuel line and filter. I need some replacement decals if anyone knows where I can get some. I painted it John Deere Green because I didn't know where to get the McCulloch yellow, besides, I like John Deere! I like McCulloch too. This saw does run though I have not put new fuel in the tank. I squirted carb cleaner in the carb and choked it and it fired up on second pull. I have to disassemble the fuel tank one more time because I broke the bolt that holds the handle on on the right side and will need to apply heat to the housing when I get ready to remove this part. I will make another video of the saw running later. Thanks to everyone for viewing my videos and rating 5 Stars. Coments are welcome.
P.S. I had to choose this song because you tube would not allow my origional song, Paradise City, and you tube did not have a very apealing group of songs to choose from. Thanks, Junkman6261

  • nice amount of pride you put in that, good job

  • @mustie1 thanks

  • OK. Call me a purist snob; but Macs are Yellow. Sometimes Black. Sometimes Yellow AND Black, but never green. Great way to lose it in the brush, though. Aside from that; fantastic work, man! It's always a lot of fun to replace dollars with elbow grease and know-how. I applaud you. These pigs can throw some serious chips and are built with a quality that is unapproachable ($) by the common man, these days. Be safe.

  • @jerkmcgerkin hi, i guess the first four letters says it all about you. Then again, maybe not, that's why we are all entitled to our own opinions. Had I wanted a yellow Mac, then I would have just changed the fuel line and rebuilt the carb and called it quits. I wanted something unique. Anyway, thanks for your comment and opinion.

  • why not buy a new saw and save a bunch of time and money?

  • @th19940305 poor guy, you'll never understand. Thing is I have less than $40 invested in this saw.

  • Great job, I have used this same for three decades. It was a very well made saw. It should be yellow.

  • 700s are good saws, the two i ran back in the day were screamers

  • Very nice job man!!! You have a lot of pride in your work and love of the old craftsmanship, unlike the plastic garbage they put out today. I recently purchased a McCulloch Super pro 81s, 82cc's of raw power, going to pick up a 610 pro tomorrow, just needs a carb rebuild.

  • Dont listen to these people. I saw it on the thumbnail and went wow. I watched the video and saw that you put alot of work into this. Most of these jelous people wouldnt know how to do this. You wanted something unique and you got it. really cool saw there man.

  • i want one of these to kill my enemies

  • very good job.

  • sweet looking saw dude. I was wondering if you had to fix/change the timing on the saw? I have a Pro Mac 700 that needs fixing up but the pullstart/timing wheel has come off the shaft and wont stay on. Did you have this problem or do you know how to reattach it and in the right place

Also, When you shine up the bar real nice, some pine strip flames in the green would look sweet, but maybe thats just me

    Cheers Brad

  • @junkman6261 Hey! I take back all those nice things I said! Geez. Grow a sense o' humor. It may have been a little presumptive to criticize your color choice, but I didn't call names!
