Black women in America, the islands and Africa have often carried much of the weight of the black community. Today, we finally see them breaking down in high numbers. What are we going to do about it? They are our daughters, sisters, aunts and mothers.

Its not just black people who are depressed. Everybody is depressed. It is the nature of the human condition.

True, depression can exist among all people but no other women have had to carry the burden black women have been faced with for generations. They have been extraordinarily strong but we are seeing a limit and the obvious pain.

@jx14aby Black women suffer more due to them being conditioned in slavery and molded to act as men. God didn't design women to be men. This is why so many black women are angry, attitudinal and even violent. The black church is now headed by women pastors (against God's will) who have no idea of how God deals with depression. God never chose women to teach doctrine so you can see why they lack solutions in regard to depression, teen pregnancy and all else.

its been known for a long time now that the subconcious or reactive side of our mind and mental control center will actually make us sick from various (psychosomatic) illnesses just because we have subconcious ENGRAMS! The type of therapy that will negate the effects of this destructive thinking is what we should seek. If a person is Hypnotized and while under this she/he is told that they will need glasses or itch on the foot the mind will make it so in the body! this is what engrams do!

@TheKnowledge4ya why to black people feel the need to fake and lie about their true feelings? let it be known that we realize this sh_t isn't fair and we want better for ourselves our families and communities. Black people are sick of being concerned about the FEELINGS of every other people on this planet while neglecting our own community. Its time to DO FOR SELF

i can hear what shes saying just fine i dont need you to tell me what she meant. if what your saying is what she meant then she should have said that instead of what she did say.

and i doubt that 2nd higest suicide thing is true

What's your problem? Do you understand the context of that segment, or that program? What she meant by saying black women carry the nation...we are often employed in positions where we are nurtures. So often take care of others to our detriment. Also, mental health aware is still very taboo in the black community. What about black men? There was a segment on that 2. and it's actively being addressed more than black women b/c black males have the 2nd highest suicude rate..2nd to Native Americans.
