Robert Shaw es uno de los más grandes actores del siglo XX. Es muy versátil y tiene mucha gracia actuando. Puede interpretar desde un nazi (La batalla de las Ardenas) pasando por un aviador de la RAF(La batalla de Inglaterra), un gángster (El golpe), un cazatesoros submarino (Abismo), un asesino profesional de Espectra (Desde Rusia con amor) o un oficial Israelí (Domingo negro).
Además es el actor que más personajes reales a interpretado (Custer, Lord Randolph, Pizarro, etc...)
