1 Minute Review Front Mission Evolved

Something new I wanted to try out. Partly a challenge to see if I could make a review that gave decent information on a game in a very limited amount of time.

Dont know how I could improve on this. It was hard enough getting it down to this much.

Looks a lot like Armored Core, just slower and watered down. And the gameplay does look more suited for something turn-based. Props for throwing new ideas out there, Omega.

Front Mission is an old series. The first game was on SNES I think, but the first one that I played was FM3 on PS1. Which is a game I have played a lot. Its a very good game. It was turn based strategy. FM4 was also the same, which is on PS2. Then FM5 came out and I think it never came out in the US.

This is the next one they made to change the series. Which is why they added the Evolved, but it shouldnt have evolved. At least not in this way.

I really never liked Front. I always love stradegy games, but I really did not enjoy the original, or the sequel, at ALL. They SHOULD make another Gladius, like the old one, but not that crappy computer version.

I have to say, I've always said that Front Mission games could make decent third person shooters (and more recently over the shoulder shooters) Sorta like that intro for Front Mission 4, which ironically was the goal of the game production team to simulate it. Just a shame it all fell a bit short. But a first good try nonetheless.

@PenanceOmega played it and gota say that it aint the best neither the longest game but hey how many mech shooters are there?

and trust me armored core is way faster and way more customizable hell there were missions where they force you to use quad and hover legs and combat with those sucks :/

I think the director said if this was successful that they would consider making another strategy game - which doesn't really make sense but whatever. So the failure of this game means no more Front mission? Square just went and killed another franchise we used to like - thanks.

a slowed down armored core 4, not bad IMO but not great either.

FMs are always better off being a turn-based. It doesn't stand out much as an FPS game. :(
