Minivan Meltdown!

Our mother's 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager died going down the highway. She and bizzarefurhead had no idea what went wrong--other than to say "it quit" so the Keykeeper and I went to investigate.

At the very least, the engine has jumped out of time. Research seems to indicate that the timing chain lasts about 200,000 miles and we had 195,5xx on it. The loud ticking that you hear is actually nowhere near that loud.

What we don't know is whether or not this engine is an interference engine. Even the factory service manual doesn't say...

geez your neigborhoods got some nice cars... 3rd gen camaro, bonneville, vintage truck , and whatever that gold car is across the street, and a triumph, prelude, and good ol chevy truck in your own driveway.

Well the biggest issues is that its part of the GM family and IV known lots of people who had the caravan and the voyager and they were all crap. No matter the millage or the year they were all junk, Electrical and mechanical. Plus that very van caused alot of deaths in infants cause if it was rear ended the seat back mechanism would snap and the seat would fold back and the parents head would hit the baby's cracking the base of the skull. Research it you will find hundred's of reports on it
