With the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows only three days away, I wanted to share some of my theories and thoughts on it, especially about Snape.
@sindie11 Excellent. Thanks for the insight. As I said, I didn't really see that coming. Good reading on your part. It seems like she really laid down the clues for those who spent enough thought to figure it out.
@sindie11 Snape was picked on by the Marauders all the time, so their picking on him isn't why it's his "worst" memory. I believed that when Snape called Lily "Mudblood," it was in his humiliation, and his friendship with her was lost at that point. Turned out I was spot on about that. LOL
@sindie11 In addition, Slughorn tells Harry how good Lily was at Potions, and we know Snape was as well, so that commality doesn't seem to be by mistake. There is much talk about Lily (from Slughorn) in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is the book about Snape in many ways, so another connection. Finally, there is "Snape's Worst Memory." I believed it was his "worst" memory because that was when he "lost" Lily. (Cont...)
@joshuaoha A lot of it is introspection and reading between the lines, more of what isn't said than what is said. First of all, Snape never berates Lily in front of Harry; it's always James he espouses his hatred for. Secondly, he know from Dumbledore that Snape was filled with remorse when the Potters were targeted, and since we know Snape hated James, it only makes sense that he is worried for Lily's life. (I'll continue in another post, as I'm running out of characters.)
@sindie11 Even after doing a second reading and knowing what was going to happen, I don't see the hints about Snape being in love with Harry's Mom. How did you figure that out?!
@joshuaoha Thanks! I did a lot of reading in between the lines over the years, rereading the books, discussing it with others, and reading on message boards, hence my thoughts being fairly accurate, I guess. :) I think I was wrong about Harry "going dark." While he had doubts about Dumbledore, Harry still remained loyal to Dumbledore and to staying on the side of Light.
@joshuaoha You're welcome! :)

Amazing how much you were right about. I didn't see most of that coming. Do you think you were wrong about Harry turning to the dark path?

Lol. You were pretty much spot on with everything. ^^ I feel the same way as you on basically every single thing you said. Very nice.:)

Your Lily & Snape theory is really good! Good work! He loved Lily, but hated James so it's just fitting.
