As with anything else, the best style is the simplest. Just watch Ultimate fighting, you can use any style and there are few rules... so what do you see? Boxing and wrestling, simple.

@Matamune87 AIKIDO IS FAKE.

@andretfernandes Like this ridicolous bullshit? --> /watch?v=HoaDBvufLEM

You've got to be kidding me! This is not Karate vs Aikido, it is dancing. I am still waiting to see a video uploaded that has an Aikido practitioner against someone of another fighting style in a real fight, not the staged crap dojo demonstrations Aikido loves to put on. I'm not saying anything against Aikido only that the fights always shown are not fights, just promos for Aikido.

Although some forms of Aikido do compete, most Aikidoka view competition as a "bad" thing. I have studied Kumano Juku Dojo-Shingu Aikido for a little more than two years now and agree with my Sensei. As soon as you aim to win or defeat your opponent, you unknowingly open yourself to many attacks. Aikido, in my opinion, should be studied as a way of harmoniously eliminating conflict.

No competitions? Have you ever heard about Shodokan Aikido, founded by Kenji Tomiki?

@greadion4 You have never done neither boxing nor BJJ, have you?
-
What about it?
BJJ is like boxing. Simple, entertaining and designed to beat the crap out of people rather than subdue them by dislocation or.
When I say simple but, any martial art or in fact anything you do takes one crap load of practice to finesse.
Saying this Aikido and Judo come from the same Japanese jujitsu tree. Jujitsu then Aikido and Judo then BJJ came from Judo.

@greadion4 How about BJJ?
I disagree, There is no one true art that is better than the others. Depending on the proficiency of the practitioner, any form of martial art can be effective in real life combat situations. One mans Aikido can be completely different to another mans. The style is not rigid, it's an individual art form, the moves flow around the artist. Different styles don't always have to be in competition with each other, they can also compliment one another. They are all branches from the same tree.

Of course, because Aikido does not have competitions. Or real attacks for that matter.
So this whole "aikido vs something" is absurd.
I really wonder why so many Youtube posters use the title "Aikido vs. something". That label is so totally stupid.
