We drive from Colonia Escalon (West) to Downtown El Salvador (somewhat East).
Colonia Escalon has hotels, malls, restaurants and nearby are San Benito suburb and Multiplaza/Las Cascadas/La Gran Via malls. We go down Paseo Escalon to El Salvador del Mundo plaza and continue through Alameda Roosevelt. On the next video: Downtown El Salvador is chaotic, filled with street vendors and alive, and here you find the Cathedral and National Theatre.

  • Isn't zona Escalon for rich people still?. Im trying to build a house there or Santo Benito i think im not sure if its near by. I want to retire in El Salvador haha... where can i find more info on the surrounding areas

  • @Januscanal Yes, it is, especially the higher parts (bordering the volcano). San Benito is high end too and next to La Escalón. But with the earthquake in 1986, which destroyed many buildings downtown, many companies and stores relocated to these neighbourhoods. Therefore, downtown has decayed a lot, and it will be difficult to bring it to its past glory. If you are very rich (lucky you!) there are other enclaves, for example, on the way to La Libertad...
